Welcome to Stop the Governator, the website of some 350,000 Southern Californians committed to defeating the governor's war on working families and their communities. We are teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, health care workers, and school, city and state employees dedicated to making California work.
On June 13, when Gov. Schwarzenegger called for a special election,
he chose to circumvent the legislature, rather than work with our elected
representatives to solve the state's crises. His initiatives are nothing
more than
a power grab that give him sole budgetary authority.
They attack teachers, set redistricting boundaries
prematurely and try to silence the voices anyone who
disagrees with him.
